Number signing on fell by 3,500 last month

Youth unemployment continues downward trend

3,500 fall in Live Register Credit:

Official figures show that the number of people signing on fell by 3,500 in June, bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 305,600.

In unadjusted terms there were 315,883 on the Live Register in June, an annual decrease of 40,637 or 11.4 per cent, according to the Central Statistics Office. There was a monthly fall of 2,900 in the number of men signing on, while for women the drop was 600.
