Number of cars licensed for first time surges by nearly 38% in February

The number of new private cars licensed for the first time in February rose by 37.6 per cent to 21,173, the Central Statistics Office said.

Since the start of the year, the number is up by 36 per cent compared to the first two months of last year.

The number of goods vehicles licensed in February rose by 49 per cent to 3,815, the CSO said.
