FBD may close regional branches

Insurance firm FBD is considering shutting some of its 33 branches across the country as it looks to reduce costs.

FBD is one of the few insurers that has retained a branch network in Ireland. But after a torrid 2015 that has already seen the company announce 100 voluntary redundancies to shave €7 million from costs, the branch network is up for review, according to FBD chief executive Fiona Muldoon.
