News Corp in £220m offer for Wireless Group

Media giant News Corp has announced plans to buy Wireless Group in an offer worth about £220.3m.

It changed its name to Wireless Group earlier this year after selling its television division to ITV. News Corp's UK and Ireland subsidiary is offering 315p a share to shareholders, a 70 per cent premium over yesterday's closing price of 185p. Wireless Group's directors are recommending the offer.
