Naughten turned down meeting with INM chair

The Minister for Communications, Denis Naughten

The Minister for Communications, Denis Naughten, rejected a meeting last year with Independent News & Media chairman Leslie Buckley to discuss the future of newspaper funding.

Correspondence between Buckley and Naughten show the minister asked that the meeting be postponed as his department was then assessing the proposed takeover by INM of the regional newspaper chain Celtic Media.
