Mortgage arrears figures fall for tenth consecutive quarter

Central Bank statistics issued this morning show that the number of mortgage-holders in arrears continues to fall for the tenth consecutive quarter.

The number of accounts in arrears over 90 days at end-December was 61,931 (8.3 per cent of total), reflecting a quarter-on-quarter decline of 5.7 per cent.

All maturity categories of arrears, including the over 720 days’ category, declined in Q4 2015.
