Money Matters: Time to re-evaluate the cost of education

Back-to-school has already started and costs are rising for families

This Wednesday, children's charity Barnados will publish its eleventh annual school costs survey, based on responses from almost 1,500 parents.

I have yet to see the figures but I’m sure they’ll point to an increase in the total costs faced by families. There’s a raft of school expenses for parents to contend with, such as school books, clothing, footwear, voluntary contributions and so on.
