Even Elon Musk is making jokes at Manchester United’s expense these days. It took him four hours to withdraw his suggestion on Twitter that he was buying the club.

Notwithstanding Musk’s flakiness there would have been supporters interested in the possibility. Football club fans thrive on owners with pet projects on which they shower more money than commercial sense.
