Live Register figure falls further towards 300,000

More than 5,000 fewer signing on last month, says CSO

Official figures show that the number of people signing on fell by 5,100 in July bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 300,300.

In unadjusted terms there were 319,294 on the Live Register in July, an annual decrease of 44,334 or 12.2 per cent, according to the Central Statistics Office. There was a monthly fall of 2,400 in the number of men signing on, while for women the drop was 2,600.
