Legal costs in Mhic Mhathúna case estimated at €700,000

Terminal cancer victim’s action against HSE and US laboratory was settled for €7.5 million

Solicitor Cian O’Carroll has submitted an estimate of costs of approximately €700,000 for cancer patient Emma Mhic Mhathúna’s case.

O’Carroll said that “legal costs [would] include two senior counsel, one junior counsel, the team of solicitors involved, the various experts, both liability and quantum, the mediation and trial preparation”.
