Ladbrokes has moved to lay off 80 people and shut down up to 50 more shops in an effort to revive its insolvent Irish business. A court-appointed examiner is seeking 80 voluntary redundancies across the business, as the business seeks to cuts costs and restore its loss making branch network.
The British bookmakers has previously closed 31 Irish shops this year, and the examiner, Deloitte accountant Ken Fennell, is expected to shut down between 40 and 50 more outlets.
