Irish link to Big Tobacco’s Europe-wide lobbying efforts

An Irishman involved in the vaping industry has joined forces with Imperial Tobacco to launch a European direct democracy initiative to call for new legislation on e-cigarettes.

The initiative – called “Let’s demand smarter vaping regulation” – has been criticised by EU commissioner for health Vytenis Andriukaitis as part of “a false debate”.
