Irish equity market transactions rose 30% in 2014 - ISE

The Irish Stock Exchange said equity transactions grew by 30 per cent last year to 4.5 million trades as the ISEQ index of Irish shares delivered a gain of 15 per cent.

The Irish Stock Exchange said equity transactions grew by 30 per cent last year to 4.5 million trades as the ISEQ index of Irish shares delivered a gain of 15 per cent.

In an end-of-year review, the ISE said 2014 was "a landmark year" for the exchange with more than 7,000 new debt listings and 1,600 new fund classes.

Among the new securities listed was government debt from Kenya, Macedonia and Senegal and corporate issuance from companies such as Debenhams, Sky...
