Ireland is doomed to boom-bust cycles, says Swiss expert

Ireland is doomed to suffer from more repeat boom-bust cycles than other European countries due to its young population, the chief strategist of a leading Swiss private bank has said.

Christian Gattiker-Ericsson, chief strategist and head of research with Julius Baer, was in Dublin last week for an event for the bank’s Irish clients, some of whom switched over to the Swiss outfit after it snapped up Merrill Lynch’s private client business this year....
