Ibec chief McCoy slams climate bill as ‘moronic’

Comments were made as the lobby group launched a ‘sustainable economy’ road map

Ibec chief executive Danny McCoy has claimed that banning further oil and gas exploration is “nonsensical”, and that People Before Profit TD Brid Smith’s Climate Emergency Bill is “moronic”.

McCoy made the comments in the same week that the industry representative body launched its roadmap for a more sustainable Ireland, entitled Building A Low Carbon Economy.
