Newstalk has damaged not just itself but all the many fine journalists who work there by failing to take on Hook’s reprehensible statements early on, writes Tom Lyons

In his biography Time Added On, George Hook remarks: “Decisiveness is a quality I envy in others.” Hook professes not to be able to make decisions himself. However he said his first producer, Garrett Harte, later editor-in-chief and a consultant to Newstalk, had this quality in spades.
