Greencore first-half operating profit up 8.5% to £43.5 million

The company reported strong growth in its UK and US food-to-go business

Greencore has reported an 8.5 per cent increase in first-half operating profit to £43.5 million (€55.2 million), helped by continued strong growth in its UK and US food-to-go business.

The food group, which reported an 8.1 per cent rise in revenue to £691.6 million for the 26 weeks to March 25, said revenue in its convenience food business was up by 8.7 per cent to £667.9 million. It said its first-half operating margin remained unchanged at 6.3 per cent.
