Government moves ahead with €2.8m plan for one single web portal

The government is spending €2.8 million to put the websites of every single department on one single portal.

The project was being pushed strongly by John Concannon, the former head of the Strategic Communications Unit, but it has continued even after the unit was disbanded.

Four government departments are now being hosted on the site and the remaining 11 are due to move across by the middle of next year. So far, €1.1...
