Google plans sports facility add-on at Boland’s Mill site

The sports facility, which will be based at tower two, will measure 220 square metres and will be covered in netting, in an effort to avoid noise carrying throughout the locality

Google staff could soon be playing basketball in the clouds – after the tech giant applied for planning permission to build an outdoor sports facility on the fifth floor of its new Boland’s Mill development.

Plans to redevelop the historic site were first approved by Dublin City Council in 2015, with the US firm acquiring the project from Nama for €300 million in May last year.
