Fianna Fáil TD Michael McGrath, a member of the Oireachtas banking inquiry committee, has said he believes it would be "a grave error" to allow David Drumm to give evidence to the inquiry from the US via video link.

McGrath, who is also Fianna Fáil's spokesperson on finance, said the former Anglo Irish chief executive should return to Ireland and support the criminal investigations under way and attend the inquiry in person....
