ESB will use Moneypoint beyond 2025

The ESB intends to keep Moneypoint power station in electricity generation after 2025, The Sunday Business Post can reveal.

Documents obtained by this newspaper under Freedom of Information legislation outline plans to transition the Co Clare electricity plant from coal generation to either gas, biomass or renewables generation after 2025, when the government has instructed all coal generation in Ireland to cease.
