A merger of Dow and DuPont would combine two of the best-known names in US industry

Dow Chemical is in late-stage talks to merge with DuPont in what would be the largest deal in the chemicals industry, sources said.

An accord may be announced as soon as this week, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is private.
