Developer Noel Smyth slams ‘shoebox’ apartments

Veteran builder takes aim at industry peers

Veteran developer Noel Smyth has said that the government’s new rules allowing smaller apartments in developments are a retrograde step.

In a frank interview with The Sunday Business Post, Smyth also urged a fresh commitment from builders to building social housing.

“The one thing you shouldn’t do is go back to this shoebox idea,” he said.
