Department of Health’s new HQ will cost €300 million over 25-year lease

OPW internal audit report is critical of delay in moving and highlights lack of risk analysis

The state will spend €300 million on rent, fit-out and other costs during the Department of Health’s 25-year occupancy of Miesian Plaza, according to an internal audit report seen by this newspaper.

The report, given last month to the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee, said the price per square foot being paid to lease Miesian Plaza on Dublin’s Lower Baggot Street was not out of line with other prices being paid in the city...
