Court of Appeal quashes convictions of two former Anglo officials

Tiarnan O'Mahoney and Bernard Daly will be released immediately

The Court of Appeal has quashed the convictions of two former Anglo Irish Bank officials, Tiarnan O'Mahoney and Bernard Daly, who were jailed last year for conspiracy to falsify bank records and defraud the Revenue Commissioners.

Both men will be released immediately. No retrial has been ordered for Daly and the court will hear submissions later on whether or not O'Mahoney should be retried.
