Council official suspended after ‘moonlighting’ complaint to Sipo

A senior county council official has been suspended after a complaint about ‘moonlighting’ on private planning applications.

The official works with a county council in the west of Ireland, but it is alleged they have also carried out private work by compiling environmental reports used in private planning applications.

A member of the public contacted the Standards in Public Office Commission to complain about the official’s involvement in several private planning applications....
