Corscadden family buys Markree Castle

8th June, 2015

Manor House Hotel owners, the Corscadden family, have acquired Markree Castle in Co. Sligo for an undisclosed sum.

The family, which already owns three castle hotel properties, will invest €5 million in a restoration project which will see the castle re-open to the public in March 2016.

This is the first time that Markree Castle has changed hands since it was gifted to the Cooper family by Oliver Cromwell in the mid-17th century.
