Government is eager to avoid huge overruns in projects like the National Children’s Hospital

External consultants are going to be hired to review the cost of mega-projects such as the National Children’s Hospital at a cost of up to €100 million. The government is developing the new oversight process to avoid a repeat of the hospital overrun, which spiralled from €940 million to an estimated €2 billion.
