Ireland’s consumer watchdog has demanded beefed-up powers that would allow her to hit companies with Apple-style financial penalties.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is also planning a clampdown on cartels, pyramid schemes and mobile phone operators, and is warning consumers to beware of money-back mortgage offers being rolled out by banks.
