Legislation is being drawn up to allow Central Bank staff to hand over confidential information to the banking inquiry behind closed doors.
Members of the inquiry had expressed concern that Central Bank staff could be restricted from revealing confidential information under Central Bank legislation.
But legislation will now allow the banking inquiry to get confidential Central Bank documents and to question Central Bank staff about them in private behind-closed doors sessions.
