Casey embroiled in ‘anti-Semitic’ row after old interview resurfaces

Presidential candidate Peter Casey has been criticised for ‘ignorant’ comments that, according to the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland, “perpetuate anti-Semitic tropes and stereotypes” after he said that Jewish people “basically live in the White House”.

The comments were made in 2014 in an unpublished interview with The Sunday Business Post in which he was advocating for greater Irish influence in US politics. Casey last week denied the comments...
