Gardaí believe a man whose remains were found in a suitcase in the Grand Canal in Co Kildare at the weekend was killed elsewhere.

The unidentified man's body was found dismembered and wrapped in plastic in the village of Ardclough on Saturday afternoon.

The suitcase was spotted in the water by two people walking along the canal bank between the 13th lock and Ardclough Bridge.
