Canada's Irving Oil buys Whitegate refinery in Cork

Whitegate is the state's only refinery, employs 300 people

Canadian-owned Irving Oil has agreed to buy the Whitegate refinery near Cork from American oil giant Phillips 66.

Irving Oil said it would share more information on the acquisition upon the close of the purchase and sale agreement.
