Can the Land Development Agency solve the housing crisis?

The LDA was launched last year, but even before it has been fully established, it has been subject to criticism for its failure to provide adequate levels of affordable housing

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar chose the top floor of his old department to launch the Land Development Agency (LDA) last year.

It was easy to see why – the Department of Social Protection’s ministerial office, which he once occupied, has panoramic views of many of the inactive public sites on which the new agency is supposed to build.
