Broadcaster and journalist Bill O'Herlihy dies

Broadcaster and journalist Bill O'Herlihy, who presented 10 World Cups and 10 Olympic Games for RTE over five decades, has died at the age of 76.

RTE said O'Herlihy, who anchored his final World Cup before retiring last year, passed away peacefully at home this morning.

As RTÉ's chief sports presenter for major events, he also led coverage of UEFA European Football Championships, European and World Track and Field Championships as well as presenting the first Rugby World...
