Briefing: More pressure on Sinn Féin as sex abuse scandal rumbles on

Party feels it is being targeted by newspaper group

Party members say they feel “under siege” from the torrent of recent allegations that Sinn Féin activists and members of the wider republican movement, including IRA members, were involved in sexual abuse, private investigations and cover-ups.

They expect the allegations to continue over the coming weeks.

Sources expect further revelations about abuse by the same IRA man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted Paudie McGahon, who recently told his story...
