Bobby Kerr remembers his first coffee shop. It was called Perk, and it opened in the basement of the Laura Ashley store on Grafton Street. The year was 1998 and, at 38, Kerr had quit as a senior executive in the Campbell Bewley’s tea and coffee empire to go out on his own.
“Man, did I think I made a mistake. I took 50 quid the first day,” he says.
