Bigger fall in wholesale prices last month

Official figures show that factory gate prices fell in April, led by lower prices for dairy and pharmaceutical products.

The Central Statistics Office said wholesale prices dropped by 0.3 per cent in the month, meaning prices have fallen by 3.8 per cent over the year to April. This is a steeper annual fall than the 3.3 per cent recorded in March.
