AIB staff seek guarantee over IT outsourcing plan

Over 100 AIB employees will move to block a staff outsourcing deal unless they are given assurances that their jobs will not be moved offshore for five years.

Last week it was announced that 176 AIB IT workers will be moved to Eircom, Integrity Solutions and WiPro. It is understood that workers moving to the Indian-owned WiPro, which has only one Irish office in Shannon, are particularly concerned that they secure commitments on “offshoring”.
