AIB director Murphy to leave bank at the end of 2015

Murphy was pipped for the job of chief executive earlier this year

Fergus Murphy, director of corporate and institutional banking at AIB, has announced he is leaving the bank for family reasons and to seek new opportunities.

Murphy, who is formerly a chief executive of EBS Building Society, will leave the bank at the end of 2015.

In an interview with Bloomberg he said he was leaving “after eight years in the trenches, between my time as EBS CEO and with AIB”.
