30,000 tax certs withheld over LPT

The taxman has withheld almost 30,000 tax clearance certificates over failure to pay the local property tax (LPT)

The latest Revenue statistics show that a major compliance programme in relation to the LPT and its predecessor, the household charge, has seen nearly 260,000 compliance letters issued this year.
