Susan O’Neill is a singer-songwriter who believes in forging her own path. At 16, she reached the final stages of RTÉ’s talent show You’re a Star by singing cover versions. The husky-voiced Ennis woman then thought, “I can’t not represent myself properly anymore,” and performed one of her own compositions, which didn’t win, but did preserve her self-respect.
