When I tested the second-generation Mercedes CLA earlier this year, I spent most of my time wondering why you would pay more for it over and above the similarly sized Mercedes A-Class Saloon.
After all, swoopy styling and “coupé” billing of the CLA aside, they are technically both four-door saloons built on the same front-wheel-drive platform and sharing more or less the same range of engines and equipment.
