Vodafone and Liberty Global agree to combine Dutch businesses

Vodafone and billionaire John Malone’s Liberty Global agreed to combine their businesses in the Netherlands, joining forces to challenge Royal KPN and Deutsche Telekom.

The 50-50 joint venture will probably result in cost and revenue synergies of about €3.5 billion after integration costs, with the deal expected to be completed at about the end of the year, according to a statement from the companies on Tuesday. Vodafone will pay €1 billion in cash...
