Since Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969, there have been many more great leaps for humanity in space exploration. Most have been robotic, although people have made their own marks along the way, and there have been tragedies as well as triumphs.


July 20 Neil Armstrong becomes the first person to set foot on the moon. Buzz Aldrin follows him down the steps to become the second.
