Tech scene hit as Wayra announces closure

Wayra, a high profile incubator for tech start-ups, is pulling down its shutters in June, a move regarded as a major blow to the Dublin technology scene.

The Telefónica-backed hub opened in September 2012, with 30 start-ups going through its accelerator programme.

However, it will now close in June once the nine businesses currently in the centre’s accelerator process complete their programmes.
