One and two-letter .ie domain names to be made available for registration

There will be a public consultation on the release process for the new two-letter .ie domain names

Irish businesses will soon be able to register one and two-letter domain names for the first time, the IE Domain Registry (IEDR), which is responsible for the management and administration of Ireland's .ie internet address, said.

The change will allow up to 676 possible two-letter domain name combinations such as hp.ie, pc.ie or hr.ie.
