Irish broadband prices are almost twice the EU average, according to a European Commission report which ranks Ireland 23rd out of 28 member states for fixed broadband value.
The Digital Economy and Society Index showed that 96 per cent of Irish households are covered by fixed broadband but take-up is at 62 per cent, below the European Union average of 70 per cent, ranking Ireland 19th in the EU.
