Volkswagen puts Irish Golf owners on notice of recall
Crisis-hit car maker says fix will cost nothing and won't affect performance
Next week, Irish owners of Volkswagen Golf model cars can expect to receive notification that their cars might will be in line for recall for the long awaited fix for their engine – which had been fitted with so-called ‘defeat devices’ to artificially lower their nitrous oxide emissions and give them a more favourable rating.
The manufacturer says there are 2,500 such cars in Ireland and the recall will begin next week.
