Status Red rainfall warning in operation
A number of severe weather warnings are in place today as Storm Desmond moves across the country.
Met Eireann has forecast continuing extremely windy weather in most places today, with gale force southwesterly winds and some severe gusts.
Further flooding is espected in Connacht and west Ulster. Gale force southwest winds with severe gusts will persist through the day, with fresh to strong winds in the northwest this morning.
